New Delhi : Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion (SMGC), under the leadership of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, is all set to host the first-ever Youth Summit for Human Fraternity and Compassion’ along with Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, in Viratnagar, Rajasthan, from 30th September to 2nd October 2023.
The summit will bring together 600 youth leaders from India and around the world, along with Zayed Award honourees from all sectors of society to discuss the importance of compassion and develop concrete actions to promote compassion in the world.
Prominent leaders attending this summit include 2011 Nobel Peace Laureate Leymah Gbowee, who united Christian and Muslim women to end Liberia’s civil war in 2003; Shamsa Abubakar Fadhil, better known as ‘Mama Shamsa’, current recipient of Zayed Award whose pioneering campaign transformed the lives of over 1000 Kenyan youths away from a life of crime; H.E. Abulnasser Jamal Alshaali, Ambassador of UAE to India; Souria-Saad Zoi, Chief of the Youth Section – Social and Human Sciences, UNESCO; Dr. Epsy Campbell Barr, former Vice President of the Republic of Costa Rica who was the first Afro-descendant woman to hold this post, along with considered the most influential and important women of African descent in the world. Various religious leaders and youth influencers will be in attendance as well to provide their insights into the movement for globalising compassion.
