At SMGC, we believe that lasting change begins with meaningful dialogue. We bring together Nobel Laureates, changemakers and global thought leaders to take cognizance of the global problems, spark ideas, challenge systems, and reimagine a world rooted in compassion.
Through international conferences, roundtables, and deep-dive conversations, we create space for powerful voices from healthcare, education, judiciary, media, and corporates to inspire compassionate action across India and the globe.
These are high-level solution-oriented forums – shaping policy, influencing change and aligning with global thought leadership.
The inaugural roundtable on Satyarthi Compassion Quotient (SCQ), hosted by SMGC in collaboration with Center for Social and Behaviour Change at Ashoka University, marked a milestone in exploring compassion as a force in addressing global crises. The event convened distinguished global academicians, scholars and practitioners to deliberate on developing robust frameworks for measuring SCQ and integrating compassion into leadership programs, education and global governance.
SCQ is a crucial measure for understanding how compassion can be harnessed to address global challenges, such as social inequality, war, climate change, and public health crises. The roundtable deliberated on ways to measure SCQ, exploring ways to scale such a tool or index, and identifying its application across sectors.

The first-ever judiciary roundtable on the “Role of Compassion in Achieving Justice for All” was held on 18 November 2024. The event brought together nine sitting judges and six former judges of the Supreme Court of India to explore the transformative role of compassion in the delivery of justice. Drawing inspiration from Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi’s ideology, the discussions underscored compassion as “urgent action to solve others’ problems as if they were one’s own.”
The roundtable marked a pivotal step in aligning compassion as a strong force for justice delivery with Constitutional values, particularly for marginalized and vulnerable communities. The discussions revolved around the judiciary’s potential to bridge the gap between the letter and spirit of the law through compassion.
