SMGC Ignite

SMGC is committed to training individuals, groups, and organizations to lead with compassion. Through a range of targeted training programs, we prepare tomorrow’s leaders to create lasting, positive change in their communities and beyond.

Compassionate Leadership Training

We deliver both short and long-term experiential training to embed Compassion as a core decision-making principle based on Kailash Satyarthi’s philosophy of Compassion. Our goal is to shape how leaders and practitioners think and act – across government, law and judiciary, education, healthcare, and the corporate world.

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation

In August 2025, we launched the first of many Compassionate Leadership Training programs for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). Through participatory sessions, we are enhancing the officers’ endeavor towards ethical public service to improve the lives of beneficiaries.

Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law

In July 2025, we launched our first-ever university course on Compassionate Leadership at Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law (JSW Law), Bhutan. The course is training the next cadre of lawyers and judges to embed Compassionate Action, a core problem-solving principle in their legal practice by integrating practical tools with grassroots community work.

We are collaborating with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to design a national teacher training module on ‘Globalising Compassion through Education’, which will impact up to 6 crore students and 24 lakh teachers across India. To kickstart this exciting journey, our team recently participated in a workshop on NCERT’s NISHTHA training modules.

Satyarthi Compassion Quotient

The Satyarthi Compassion Quotient (SCQ) offers a new framework – a measurable way to evaluate and increase compassion in individuals, institutions, and societies.

Built on decades of grassroots experience and interdisciplinary research, we provide a robust, scalable tool that informs leadership development, institutional training, and organisational culture-building, establishing Compassion as the foundational principle across both public and private sectors.

A high Compassion Quotient drives real, sustainable, and systemic solutions.

Satyarthi Summer School

Satyarthi Compassion QuotientTM

Satyarthi Compassion Quotient

The Satyarthi Summer School is an intensive, interdisciplinary program for students to explore the power of compassion in leadership, policy, and social change. Through community immersion, hands-on projects and expert-led sessions, participants gain the tools to become compassionate changemakers driving Justice, Peace, Equality and Sustainability.

In its inaugural edition held in India from June to July 2025, the program brought together 25 young changemakers from 11 countries spanning Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, and selected from over 1300 registrations across 22 countries and 250 universities.

The program culminated in the creation of the Satyarthi Youth Network (SYN): the world’s first youth-led global initiative on Compassionate Action. Built by the 2025 cohort in collaboration with SMGC, SYN will drive cross-border campaigns, amplify youth voices, access funding and mentorship, and keep compassion at the heart of global problem-solving.

The Satyarthi Fellowship

The Satyarthi Fellowship is a one-year, transformative leadership program that will empower changemakers to lead with Compassion and courage. We have a simple yet powerful belief: bringing together the brightest, most driven young people from across disciplines, continents, sectors, and lived experiences will catalyse the globalisation of Compassionate Action. Through immersive training, mentorship, and real-world problem-solving, fellows will work at the intersection of social justice, policy, and community action to drive systemic change.

Fellows will also design and implement high-impact Compassionate Action Projects around the world, working alongside grassroots communities, international institutions, and world leaders. By uniting talent from across the Global South and North, we aim to create a new generation of global leaders who can deliver practical, scalable, and lasting solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges.

Compassion Research and Satyarthi Scholars

We aim to build a robust repository of research projects, across think tanks and premier educational institutions to generate evidence-based, actionable insights for real-world application. We will make this research widely accessible through practical outputs: reports, toolkits, articles, and audio-visual content designed for advocacy and implementation.

At the heart of this initiative is the programme, Satyarthi Scholars which will support pioneering researchers across disciplines, who are advancing the frontiers of Compassion through academic inquiry and applied research. Through dedicated funding and mentorship, this programme will nurture underrepresented voices and issues, and ensure that scientific inquiry remains inclusive and socially relevant.
